Entry #1- Meet Me!

Hello, and welcome back!

In this entry, I will share a little about me and what I enjoy doing in my free time. I am from Los Angeles, California, and I moved to Texas when I was 16. Parents wanted a change of scenery, and on our way to Atlanta, our car broke down just outside Amarillo, Texas, where we stayed. After 8 years there, I wanted to move to further my education, so I came to Phoenix, Arizona, and have stayed here since. I met my wonderful husband after a year and have a beautiful family. We have three beautiful girls (poor guy) and a French bulldog (male, finally!).  He is a chef, so I am not in charge of dinner. I am currently a Lead Medical Assistant working full time and going to school to get my bachelor's in nursing.

Being a mother, wife, full-time MA, and going to school does have me constantly busy. I have very little time for myself, but I do my best to complete my assignments so I can spend some weekend time with my kids and husband. Time management is still a work in progress, but I feel it’s a challenge I can overcome. When I do get done with schoolwork, I love to take the girls to the park and play. Movie nights are the best! My kids love scary movies and also Marvel movies. When we want to take them out, we grab dinner and go to the drive-in movies.

I am looking into being healthier, changing my eating habits, and adding some physical activities. I am doing it to feel better and have the energy to catch up with my always-growing kids. My family is my biggest supporter, and it will be easy. We have a big Disneyland trip coming up again, and if you have been there, you know it’s a walk! There’s a little bit about me, and I can’t wait to learn a little about you! Until next time, bye!

  1. I am also a medical assistant and find joy in my job, I currently work in endocrinology and was in family medicine before that. What type of specialty do you work in? For my time management, I still use a paper planner that I block my time for my day, it works really well, I even color code all my different things in my life. The biggest thing to getting back in shape is just get up and start walking, the weather is beautiful right now. Take a family walk just around your block and weekly go a little further. I easily book 20-30K steps a day when I go to Disney Parks! I hope you guys have so much fun!!

  2. Hi Denise!

It was so nice to get to know a little about yourself in this blog. I am also a parent with a full time job and doing school full time. I am glad I am not the only one! Keep your head up and you will reach your goals.
