Entry #4- The Battle of Los Angeles

Welcome back!
There was a very interesting movie that keeps me thinking, what did we battle in the air?? Los Angeles, California, it's 1942, and the warning of a Japanese submarine nearby has been delivered and now expecting a possible attack within the next 10 hours. Pearl harbor had just happened 2 months prior to this event, so now everyone is on their toes. 2:25am rolls around and the sound of a high-pitched alarm goes off, scaring everyone awake not knowing what's going on. At 4:14 am, the sounds of artillery filling the air and smoke making the view hazy. Spotlights pointing up in the air, and no one knows what is happening in the sky. After a fierce battle, the news comes on and reports that the military radar picked up on an unknown object in the sky.
Now, conspiracy theories state it was a UFO, and the biggest battle happened that night of February 25, 1942. While taking shelter, how would people know what was up that dark night? This was way before the big UFO phenomena. Many people believed this to be true and that the military/government is hiding this using a cover up. The cover up being that it was a weather balloon that was launched into the sky.
Theories also suggest that it could have been a lost weather balloon that flew over Los Angeles and with the war nerves, set off a friendly fire battle in the streets of Los Angeles. After 3 hours of firing up at this object, it had finally come to an end. With this object moving from one spot to another and those claiming that with all this ammunition used on the object, it did not damage it in any way. What is this "object."
What are your thoughts? Was it friendly fire? New Neighbors visiting from space? Or was this an actual enemy attack?? Until Next time! Bye!

  2. That was such a fascinating night. I watched a documentary once that suggested the whole event was a form of mass hysteria. Like the fear that engulfed the nation at the time made everyone super jumpy.

  3. That's so interesting because it was right around war time so maybe it was some sort of technique to get people to have fear about aliens and not necessarily focus on the war and lose moral. Its also kind of crazy how they chose to do it in LA out of all places becasue usually when theres a UFO sighting its never in a crowded place.
